CNE extends the period for modifying or replacing applications for 72 hours

The National Electoral Council, in permanent session, announced a 72-hour extension lapse starting this Saturday, April 20, of the period for the modification or substitution of nominations that will be reflected in the ballot for the presidential elections on July 28.

Through a communiqué, the Electoral Branch indicated that the deadline will end on Tuesday, April 23 at 12:00 a.m. and that it was agreed in response to the requests made by the different political organizations participating in the 2024 Presidential Election.

The electoral entity decided this extension empowered in the exercise of the attribution conferred by numeral 3 of article 33 of the Organic Law of the Electoral Power and, in particular, article 42 of the Organic Law of Electoral Processes:

With the extension granted, the National Electoral Council ratifies its commitment to guarantee the right to vote and political participation of the Venezuelan people, as well as to make effective the principles of transparency, equality, reliability, impartiality and efficiency of the electoral processes established in article 293 of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” as concludes the communiqué.
