The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, received the secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas, the Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), Sacha Llorenti, to promote strategies that guarantee well-being of the peoples that make up the regional bloc.
At the meeting in Caracas, the first Combatant, Cilia Flores; the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez and Chancellor Jorge Arreaza.
The meeting reviewed the important role of ALBA in the face of the effects of COVID-19 in the region, among which they noted the creation of a humanitarian fund by the countries attached to the bloc to obtain vaccines in an equitable manner.
Given the above, President Maduro stressed that no one should feel orphaned or unprotected because ALBA is putting together a structure for the relaunch of various health programs.
Amidst the pandemic, the 10 most powerful countries in the world have collected 75 percent of vaccines against the disease; Faced with this, ALBA marks a different scheme for the distribution of doses in order to guarantee the fundamental right to health of the peoples, according to the Mppci website.
On the other hand, ALBA-TCP celebrated the educational achievements made by Cuba and Venezuela amidst the economic war and the unilateral coercive measures applied by the outgoing United States government.
It should be remembered that the Bolivarian nation together with Cuba are the founder of the regional body created by commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro.
