President Maduro signs decree for creation of the Venezuelan Atlantic Facade

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, signed the decree for the creation of the Venezuelan “Atlantic Facade” on Thursday.

From the meeting held in Miraflores Palace with the National Defense Council (Codena) and the Council of State, the head of state signed the decree by which a new maritime territory of the Republic is established.

“This is part of the battery of legal, constitutional, diplomatic, political and state actions to defend our rights over 200 years of the Republic,” said the First National Ruler.

Likewise, he stressed that the President of the Republic will be the one who designates the sole authority for the territory of the Venezuelan Atlantic Facade.

This special area called “Territory for the Development of the Atlantic Facade” is created “in order to provide adequate protection and safeguard the jurisdiction of the Republic in continental, maritime, submarine, areas, resources”, among others.

“We are betting on the development of the Atlantic Facade to boost our sovereignty” highlighted the national dignitary, who also reported that in the coming days the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez and the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, will be in charge of extending information on this new territorial decree.
