Head of State called on the people for collective conscience to avoid COVID-19 outbreaks

In order to prevent the outbreaks of COVID-19 in our country, the Venezuelan Head of State and Government, Nicolás Maduro Moros, appealed to the conscience of the Venezuelan people. Therefore, he urged Venezuelans to maintain biosafety protocols in the restart of the 7 + 7 scheme, scheduled for this Monday, January 4, with the implementation of the radical quarantine.

Do it for your family, seven days of radical, necessary quarantine. We are going to take care of ourselves to have a good 2021,” he stressed, while highlighting that “all institutional, police and military measures have been taken to protect our country at the start of 7 + 7,” he said.

Likewise, he pointed out that community screening and the provision of treatment for symptomatic and asymptomatic cases will be reinforced. These actions will be strengthened with the arrival of the first doses of the Sputnik-V vaccine, whose acquisition contract was signed on December 29.

For his part, the Minister of People’sPower for Health, Carlos Alvarado, assured that “it is important to restart the community investigation of cases, especially in the border states, given the situation of overflow in Colombia to identify new cases.”

Russian vaccine for the Venezuelans:

The Venezuelan Mandatary stressed that “the Russian vaccine is not blocked against Venezuela.” In this sense, he ratified that the Bolivarian Government signed, last December, a contract that would allow the country to obtain, in a first phase, 10 million Sputnik V vaccines against the new Coronavirus.

Likewise, he stressed: “That is to be a true friend of Venezuela,” while announcing that the Bolivarian Government is in coordination with the Republic of Cuba in order to, within the framework of cooperation and progress of the vaccine candidates developed by the Biggest of the Antilles, have access to the cure for the pandemic.

Venezuelan Scientific Advances:

In the case of the scientific advances made by Venezuelan talent to combat COVID-19, President Maduro said that to date there are two scientific investigations: the DR-10 Molecule and the so-called “Miracle Drops of José Gregorio Hernández”; both in the hands of the World Health Organization (WHO)

However, the Head of State stressed that so far there is no immediate cure for the pandemic: “There is still a lot to control and thus reach the new normalcy” and therefore called on the population not to relax prevention measures.

“The greatest medicine we have, you have it in your hands – he said – the face mask, used correctly all the time, the health of the hands, the protection to the maximum.”
