Venavega ship arrived in the east with more than 4,700 metric tons of foodstuffs

On Sunday night, the Manuel Gual vessel docked at the Port of Guanta, in Anzoátegui state, containing more than 4,700 metric tons of food in more than 399,000 bags to be distributed to the people through the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP).

The vessel belonging to Corporación Venezolana de Navegación (Venavega) sailed this Saturday from the International Port of Guaranao, in Falcón state, to continue with the Cabotage Plan and thus guarantee the food security of the people in eastern Venezuela, thus complying with the policies of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, under the guidelines of the Minister of People’s Power for Transportation, Hipólito Abreu.

In this first docking, the vessel will unload 180 containers at the Port of Guanta with more than 230,000 CLAP combos, corresponding to more than 2,800 tons of food that will be distributed in the states of Anzoátegui, Monagas, Bolívar and Sucre.

It will then continue sailing to the El Guamache port in Nueva Esparta state, where it will unload 103 containers containing more than 162,000 CLAP combos, corresponding to more than 1,900 tons of food, thanks to the joint effort made by the Gran Misión Transporte Venezuela and the Gran Misión Abastecimiento Soberano, initiatives created by the Bolivarian Government.

The president of Venavega, GB Arnulfo Alburjas Sánchez, expressed that the shipping company started this 2021 “committed with superior effort to continue guaranteeing the operability and efficiency of this means of transportation that allows bringing food in a timely manner to recover the state of well-being of the people as part of the Carabobo 200 Plan”.
