Arrives in Venezuela ninth shipment with medical supplies against Covid-19 from China

A humanitarian flight, the ninth, arrived in Venezuela on Tuesday from the People’s Republic of China with medical supplies and drugs to join the efforts made by the Bolivarian Government against COVID-19, a journey led by the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, in the company of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Venezuela, Li Baorong, and the Minister of People’s Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado.

From ramp 4 of the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, Vice President Rodríguez reported that in 2020 Venezuela has received more than 274 tons of equipment, medical supplies and medicines against the coronavirus from China:

Thanks to China and its cooperation, we have been able to face one of the most serious pandemics that humanity has experienced. Nine months later we can say that we have learned a lot, the peoples and governments have learned from this pandemic”, she said.

Rodríguez added that “if a balance must be made in these nine months of airlift, with more than 274 tons of medicines, supplies and medical equipment, it is that the cruelty of the United States Government has not been able, nor will be able to defeat the brotherhood of China and Venezuela”.

The Executive Vice President explained that the country has received from the Asian giant more than two million rapid tests, one million molecular tests, millions of drugs, one million masks and almost 600,000 special suits for the protection of health personnel.

When we are just a few hours before Christmas and a few days before the end of the year, our balance remains extraordinary in China-Venezuela cooperation. We have overcome the worst, which is the inclement blockade in the midst of the pandemic, because instead of softening and having a humanitarian gesture, what they have done is to intensify this inclement and criminal blockade against our people,” stressed the Vice President.
