This Tuesday international observers arrived in the country for DEC-6 elections

This Tuesday, the international observers who will observe the parliamentary elections on December 6, where more than 20 million Venezuelans will elect the new members of the National Assembly (AN), arrived in the country.

This was indicated by the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Indira Alfonzo; who pointed out that, in addition, there will be 1,500 national observers.

“Today arrives in the country a group from different regions of the world that have accepted the invitation to participate as a witness in the development of this electoral process to show that they are facing an electoral program, which has fully complied with the conditions and guarantees” said Alfonzo from the Strategic Operations Center, in Caracas.

In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, she informed the Diplomatic Corps accredited in the country that more than 90% of the organizations with political purposes that are legally and politically enabled in the country are participating in these elections:

«It is important to have the presence of you, different representations, not only from the region and the world, with which we have coincided at this moment, in which on next December 6, we are summoned to the great democratic party, to the electoral process,” she added.

She asserted that with this new electoral system, it is completely auditable, in all its components, complying with all the established conditions, in addition, “strict biosafety protocols” will be met to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

“We open our technological platforms to our possibilities, more than 67 electoral experts participated in the audit,” she stressed.

For these elections, 277 new members of the National Assembly will be elected for the period 2021-2026.

In this regard, more than 14,000 members of more than 100 political organizations are registered; of which more than 13,000 are candidates for the Venezuelan opposition.
