The director of the Association of Colombians in Venezuela, Juan Carlos Tanus, stated that in the recent 25 months of relations between Colombia and Venezuela, economic stability is perceived, given that what is exported from the Bolivarian nation to the Neogranadean country contributes to the economic development of the industry of both nations.
During an interview given on the “Café en la Mañana” (Coffee in the Morning) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Tanus pointed out that “there is a climate of trust and security that is being generated in the face of the economic process and they are undoubtedly taking place between Caracas and Bogotá, as part of those political decisions, and when there is political recognition, everything flows because respect is imparted in both latitudes.”
In addition, he emphasized that the 25 months of relations have not been easy; However, the Colombian Congress created a commission with the purpose of monitoring and evaluating the difficulties that arise, as well as the circumstances, in order to solve them through the binational dynamics between Colombia and Venezuela.
On the other hand, Juan Carlos Tanus recalled the conditional support of Commander Hugo Chávez for the peace talks in Colombia, which continue with the support of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro. “I remember that those meetings with Chávez were fundamental to determine the agreements, together with Senator Piedad Córdoba, who asked the international community to reach a humanitarian agreement,” he concluded.
