COVID: Venezuela registers 635 new cases and totals 76,262 recovered

This Tuesday, Venezuela registered a total of 618 cases of community transmission of Covid-19 and 17 imported cases, detected in the last 24 hours by the Venezuelan health authorities to raise the total number of infections to 84,391, of which 76,262 have successfully recovered, which is equivalent to 90 percent of the cases.

This was announced on Tuesday by the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, through the Twitter social network, at the end of the daily meeting of the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19.

Regarding the cases of community transmission, she explained that they focused on:

Mérida state: 146 new cases in 11 of the 23 municipalities, concentrating the largest number of cases in: Libertador with 70, Campo Elías with 34 and Tovar with 11, among others.

Capital District: 68 new cases in 12 of the 22 capital parishes, concentrating the largest number of cases in: Sucre (Catia) with 10, Antímano with 7, El Valle with 6, among others.

Likewise, the country registered positive cases in the following States:

Lara: 56 new cases

Portuguesa: 55 new cases

Zulia: 42 new cases

Falcón: 41 new cases

Táchira: 39 new cases

Miranda: 37 new cases

Nueva Esparta: 31 new cases

Bolívar: 27 new cases

Yaracuy: 26 new cases

La Guaira: 20 new cases

Trujillo: 14 new cases

Aragua: 6 new cases

Carabobo: 3 new cases

Barinas: 3 new cases

Anzoátegui: 3 new cases

Guarico: 1 new case

Regarding the imported cases, Delcy Rodríguez explained that 16 came from Colombia, and 1 from Brazil.

She also indicated that, as of this Tuesday, there are 7,419 active cases, of which 4,986 are in hospitals, 2,288 are in Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and 145 in private clinics.

Likewise, Rodríguez regretted reporting the death of six people due to the Covid-19 infection in the last hours, to raise the number of fatalities to 710.

Said deceases were: a 58-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman from Táchira state; two men aged 35 and 52 from Apure state; a 44-year-old man from Carabobo state, and a 59-year-old man from Monagas state.
