President Maduro: There is no return to on-site classes due to the Covid 19 pandemic

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported that the return to classes in on-site mode was ruled out for this year. “In January we will see, meanwhile, we continue the classes online and through ViVe TV.”

President Maduro, from Miraflores Palace, during a meeting with the Presidential Commission for the prevention and control of Covid 19, in a Special Health Journey, stressed that after evaluating the results of the survey conducted throughout the country and inquiring about the topic in other countries of the world, concluded that definitely this beginning of the new school year 2020-2021 will not be face-to-face.

The President of the Republic indicated that the country’s situation will be studied in order to decide if on-site classes could begin in January or not.

He asked the Minister for Education, Aristóbulo Istúriz, for the Work Plan for this new school term to be via online in times of pandemic.

He also asked the new Minister for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñañez, to see changes in the Vive Tv television station, which will play a fundamental role in the pandemic and teleclasses in times of Covid 19.
