Venezuela registers 525 new Covid-19 cases this Monday

The sectoral vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Jorge Rodríguez reported this Monday that Venezuela registers 525 new cases of Covid-19 in the national territory, being 453 community cases and 72 imported cases.

Rodríguez affirmed that there are 12 states that present new cases, with the Capital District being the most affected with 151 new cases, which comprises 33% of infections, in 20 of the 22 parishes of Caracas.

The new infections registered in the parishes of Caracas are: 27 infections in El Valle, 22 in Altagracia, 11 in Sucre, 12 El Recreo, 8 in Antímano, 8 in Coche, 8 in El Paraíso, 7 in San Juan, 6 in La Candelaria, 5 in El Recreo, 5 in La Pastora, 4 in Santa Teresa, 4 in La Vega, 3 in Caricuao, 3 in El Junquito, 3 in Macarao, 3 in Santa Rosalía, 2 on 23 de Enero, and 1 case each in San Agustín, San Bernardino and San Pedro, respectively.

Zulia state is the second most affected with 97 cases, as the focus of the Las Pulgas Market is still active, he added through a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión.

Miranda state presents 69 cases, while 44 are added in La Guaira, 38 in Sucre, 16 in Mérida, 14 in Bolívar, 8 in Falcón and Monagas states, respectively, 4 in Nueva Esparta, 3 in Aragua and 1 case in Táchira state.

To date Venezuela reports 15,988 cases of Covid-19, of which 9,959 cases have recovered, which corresponds to 62% of the total cases, while 5,883 are active cases, as reported the vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism.

The also Minister of Communication and Information, noted that 138 of the cases are female patients, and 315 are male; 24 minors among these cases.

Regarding imported cases, 67 cases come from Colombia, 3 from Ecuador and 2 from Peru, he said in the daily balance carried out by the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19.

Jorge Rodríguez also reported 4 new fatalities, bringing the figure of Venezuelans who have died to date to 146.
