President Maduro met with director of PAHO at Miraflores

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting on Thursday with the director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Carissa Etienne, at Miraflores Palace in Caracas.

This meeting served to seal agreements and advance the matter, Maduro explained in his Twitter account, in which he added: “Together we will overcome any kind of difficulties. The financial blockade imposed by the economic war will not be able to defeat Venezuela. We will overcome!”

The Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, was also present at the meeting; as well as representatives of this inter-American organization.

Earlier, Etienne met with the Sectorial Vice President for Social Development and the Revolution of the Missions, Elías Jaua Milano, to strengthen the ties of cooperation with this organization in favor of the protection of the Venezuelan people.

During her visit to the country, Venezuela and the aforementioned agency signed an agreement to optimize the distribution of medicines and the provision of supplies for health centers in the country.

In addition, Dr. Etienne made visits to health centers. This Wednesday she was at the Integral Diagnostic Center (CDI) and the Integral Rehabilitation Room (SRI) Celia Sánchez Manduley, located in the Caricuao parish of Caracas, where medicines were delivered. She also went through the General Hospital of Lídice Dr. Jesús Yerena, in La Pastora, Caracas.

Etienne also visited on Wednesday the central room of the 0-800-SALUD-YA toll-free call service, which manages the delivery of medical requirements to the population.
