Venezuela reports 362 Covid-19 positive cases, and five deceased in 24 hours

Venezuela registered a total of 362 Covid-19 positive cases on Thursday, to account for 8,372 infected by the outbreak, as reported the sectoral vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Jorge Rodríguez.

He detailed after the meeting with the Presidential Commission for the Prevention of Covid-19, that in the last 24 hours Venezuela reports 279 cases of community transmission, five deaths and 83 imported cases of the respiratory disease in the country.

«In these 116 days of hand-to-hand combat with the Covid-19, there are 279 cases of Community transmission, of which 98 are from the focus of the Las Pulgas Market in Maracaibo, 40 from the capital of Sucre state, 35 from Distrito Capital, 34 from Bolívar, 9 from Táchira, 8 from Yaracuy state, 6 from Miranda, 6 from Monagas state, 5 from Anzoátegui, 4 from Aragua, 3 from Carabobo, 2 from Nueva Esparta and one case in Delta Amacuro state”, he detailed.

Rodríguez said that of the 83 imported cases, 68 come from Colombia, 9 from Brazil, 5 from Peru, and one from Ecuador.

The sectoral vice president regretted the death of five new Venezuelans due to the coronavirus, for a total of 80 deaths in the country.

Likewise, he highlighted that of the 8,662 active cases in the country, 2,554 have recovered, 4,965 are interned receiving treatment, of which, 705 are in Integral Diagnostic Centers, 68 in private clinics.

Jorge Rodríguez insisted on the need for extreme prevention measures and to respect the radicalized quarantine in Venezuela, stressed the importance of the use of the face mask and social distancing in case of leaving home, “(only) For emergency”.
