Ministry of National Commerce executes Plan against Speculation

In the context of the Plan against Speculation announced by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, public servants of the Ministry of People’s Power for National Commerce were deployed in commercial premises in the country to guarantee that the items in the basic basket are sold at a price just for the people.

During the approach, the officials of the National Superintendence for the Defense of Socioeconomic Rights (Sundde) verified the price lists, cost structure, legal documentation and compliance with the profit margins established in the Organic Law of Fair Prices (LOPJ ), article 31.

In addition, officials verified inventories, supplies and distribution of food in supermarkets, stores, butchers, bakeries, municipal markets, distributors and marketers in charge of selling essential items.

Central Madeirense, Unicasa, Excelsior Gama, Plaza’s, Makro and other private supermarket chains, stand out among the businesses approached by prosecutors.

In these inspections, workers from the National Autonomous Service for Standardization, Quality, Metrology and Technical Regulations (Sencamer) verified the scales and weights, as well as the labeling of pre-packaged products (CPE) with the current date, to verify compliance with legal provisions. established in the Law of Metrology and the Venezuelan System for Quality.

For its part, the National Superintendency of Agro-alimentary Management (Sunagro), was in charge of verifying that the sale of the products indicated in the mobilization guide is carried out in commercial premises, a document that authorizes the transfer of agro-alimentary products in the country.

The deployments to protect the Socioeconomic Rights of the People are carried out in coordination with the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and the Operational Zone of Comprehensive Defense (ZODI).
