Venezuela gave a demonstration of participatory democracy to the UN


On Thursday, the Vice Minister for Interior Policy and Legal Security, Hanthony Coello, reported that in Venezuela have been held more than 12,000 peaceful demonstrations in the last 5 years. an information that was presented in the Universal Periodic Report to the United Nations (UN), as an example of participatory democracy.
During an interview in the “Al Aire” (On Air)  program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, Coello explained that the peaceful demonstrations had the protection of the security forces of the country.
Among other data presented at the UN, the Vice Minister Hanthony Rafael Coello said that, from 2015 to 2016,have been seized 4,240,621 kilos of controlled chemical substances, resulting in 18,334 people detained, 2 requested by Interpol and 23 illegal laboratories destroyed.
