“We are fully attending to the thousands of Venezuelans who are returning from Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, victims of xenophobia and exploitation. Brothers and Sisters! This is your homeland, the one that today welcomes you and embraces you with love”, wrote the Head of State on the Twitter social network.
The message is accompanied by an audiovisual that refers to the return of Venezuelans who left the country deceived by a campaign launched by national and international media corporations.
In addition to this, part of the health deployment arranged on the border is shown to serve the thousands of compatriots coming from other countries, who undergo a complete medical analysis to detect if they are Covid-19 positive or not, to later be attended for free by Venezuelan and Cuban medical personnel.
This is why the president indicated that Venezuela is an example of discipline of the Public Health System amidst the global Covid-19 pandemic.
“Amidst the pandemic, Venezuela is an example to the world for having a Public Health System that guarantees protection and assistance for our people. It is the Bolivarian socialism of the 21st century, human, solidary and deeply Christian that we are building”, he indicated.
So far in Venezuela are registered 227 coronavirus cases, of which 113 have recovered, and nine have died.
