“Today a wonderful page is written in political history, in electoral history, in the history of Venezuela, because an event that should have been technical, of everyday, became an extraordinary demonstration of love for the Homeland,” stated the head of the “Venezuela Toda” (The Whole Venezuela) Campaign Command, Jorge Rodríguez, referring to the massive participation of the people in the electoral simulation ahead of the Consultative Referendum on December 3.
“The expression of love and fervor that occurred today has been such that we have to say to all the people of Venezuela: Thank You; This is another lesson that the people of Venezuela give us, we never thought that we would have the deployment that occurred,” he expressed.
Rodríguez stated that, with this simulation, the people ratified their rejection of the Paris Arbitration Award of 1899 and only acknowledges the Geneva Agreement, to settle the border issues with Guyana, which, through the ExxonMobil oil company, intends to take over a territory that belongs to the Venezuelans. He noted in this particular that in this drill there were no flags, ideologies or political parties.
The president of the National Assembly also pointed out that the deployment of the population in each of the centers enabled for the simulation goes beyond the mere process of testing the machines to become familiar with the election process:
“The only explanation for such queues in a simulation is that it had three times the number of machines that are installed for events of this nature, it is that the capacity of the machines was exceeded due to the immense number of people who crowded into the voting centers”.
