More than 3,400 new health professionals graduated

This Tuesday have graduated 3,432 new health professionals that will come to strengthen the National Public Health System as community doctors of the Homeland.

During the graduation ceremony, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, awarded the degrees to 2,040 Integral Community Physicians and 1,401 specialists in Integral General Medicine.

Do carry in your spirit the spirit of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández and the morality of Ernesto Che Guevara”, said Maduro, in a broadcast by the Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) TV station.

The Head of State urged the new doctors to continue preparing with specialties and postgraduate degrees, taking into account the free and quality education offered in the country:

We need biologists, infectologists, specialists in intensive care by the dozens, anesthesiologists, internists, pediatricians, cardiologists, neurologists and psychiatrists. In Colombia only rich people can study medicine, the people’s children cannot study at universities; in Venezuela they are medical doctors with free and world-class education”, he said.

On the other hand, the recent graduate in General Medicine, Mayer Velandria, appreciated being able to study the career she always wanted, in a free and inclusive educational system:

“There is no better way to honor everything that has been granted, than to do our community care and curative work with a health system with doctors dedicated to the needs of their patients”, she said.
