Venezuela denounced United States at the FAO for attempting against the alimentation of the people


The Minister of People’s Power for Productive Agriculture, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, denounced in the framework of the 46th Meeting of the FAO Committee on Food Security, the impact of the unilateral coercive measures that the United States has imposed against the right of the Venezuelan people to alimentation.
In his speech, Minister Castro stressed that more than 4,836 million dollars have been seized to the country as a result of these unilateral coercive measures, resources that were destined to the purchase of food, the purchase of inputs for the development of agricultural plans, purchase of medicines and school supplies in Venezuela.vici
He informed that, despite these vicissitudes, the Bolivarian Government is carrying forward 19 major nutrition programs that directly benefit more than 6 million families. In addition, he explained the scope of programs such as the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP), the School Feeding Program (PAE), the Animal Protein Program and the Fairs of the Sovereign Field.
Likewise, Castro Soteldo thanked the cooperation currently received by Venezuela from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the production of rice seeds.
In closing his speech before the 46th Committee on Food Security of FAO, Minister Castro Soteldo stressed: “We raise before this Committee the possibility of a categorical pronouncement against the unilateral actions that the United States commits against other countries, which undermine the sacred right to food of the peoples of the World ”.
