Chancellor Arreaza qualified EU actions as a “cruel and failed policy”

The Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, repudiated the position of the European Union for extending the illegal sanctions against Venezuela until November 14, 2021, considering that the actions maintain the guidelines of the defeated government of Donald Trump:

The European Union continues its support for the blockade against the Venezuelan people, extending its illegal sanctions. Even in these circumstances, they follow the tail of Donald Trump. It is a cruel and failed policy, with clear overtones of frustrated colonialism”.

In a statement issued this Thursday, the EU assures that this decision responds to a political, economic, social and humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, through alleged acts that undermine democracy, the rule of law and respect for the Human Rights of Venezuelans.

This action adds to the policy of interference actions that have been denounced by the Venezuelan institutions in the face of what they qualify as actions aimed at ignoring the institutional order in Venezuela.
