Social fighters of the country celebrated this Tuesday the National Day of Feminist Socialism, in an activity that takes place simultaneously in several cities of Venezuela.
During the installation of the event at the Municipal Theater in Caracas, the Minister of People’s Power for Women and Gender Equality, Asia Villegas, greeted the attendees and congratulated the fundamental role that the revolutionary woman has played in the construction of a new society, more fair and of equals:
“This day is commemorated in memory of when Commander Hugo Chávez declared himself a feminist and protector of Venezuelan women but, in addition, he said: ‘Socialism is not possible if it is not feminist, and it is not possible to be feminist without the realization of full equality in socialism», recalled the minister.
The activity aims to reiterate the commitment of Venezuelan women in the defense of peace and the self-determination of peoples.
