The Minister of People’s Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino López, said that the message of the armies of the world that participated in the 5th Russia 2019 Military Games is the desire for integration, world peace and mutual respect between governments.
During the reception of 249 soldiers who participated in the 10 disciplines and an additional 11 as observers, the senior military official extolled the participation of the Venezuelan delegation:
“We were able to see a moralized Venezuelan soldier with a wide awareness of his country, we could see pride, competitive physical and spiritual strength (…) In these moments of conjuncture, of systematic and permanent aggression against the Homeland of Bolivar, Venezuela has been invited to participate in these international games as it has been in the last five years”, he said.
He stressed that about 40 countries competed in the event demonstrating that there are more people in the world who share the desire to go against armamentism, the nuclear threat and respect for their self-determination.
In his speech, Padrino López said that the correlation of the world’s geopolitics shows that Venezuela has the support of the international community:
“The United States pretends to isolate us every day, but Venezuela is not alone on the game board, it has friends and governments that are aware of peace”, he said.
