Bolivarian Government denounces USA to the UN Security Council for threats of naval blockade

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounced the United States on Tuesday before the Security Council of the United Nations Organization (UN), so that are condemned each and every one of the illegal actions and violations of international law undertaken by its government against the economy and sovereignty of the Venezuelan people; which have been intensified with the executive order signed by the administration of Donald Trump and threats of a naval blockade to the South American country.
The information was released by the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Jorge Arreaza, through his Twitter account @jaarreaza:
«We have denounced the US government to the Security Council and the UN General Secretariat, for the criminal blockade and threats of establishment of naval blockades and use of force against the people of Venezuela», he wrote.

In early August, the permanent ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the international body, Samuel Moncada, bluntly rejected these threats, claiming that the application of a naval blockade can only be contemplated, in accordance with article 41 of the Charter of Nations United, to countries that represent a threat to peace or have committed a serious aggression: «Venezuela has not broken the peace, has not committed any aggression, nor does it represent a threat; the one who does represent it indeed is the United States», he emphasized.
In this regard, the Venezuelan diplomat also urged the UN Security Council to investigate all the violations that the US government has been making to international law, which undermine the peace of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the entire region.
In the last two years the administration of Donald Trump has been dedicated to planning and leading a multiform war against the Venezuelan people through the financial and commercial economic blockade, however, threats from his government have intensified and escalated others levels of conflict, after the failed coup d’etat of April 30. Since then, the United States has endangered Venezuela’s air safety with recurring illegal incursions into the region of flight information controlled by Venezuela and now intends a naval and maritime blockade.
