US blockade has generated suffering in the Venezuelan people

“It is criminal what the Government of the United States is doing.” With this phrase the Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, whipped up the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US administration to pressure the exit of the constitutional president of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
The head of Venezuelan diplomacy, in an international press conference from the headquarters of the Venezuelan embassy in Russia, blamed the Donald Trump government for the thousands of Venezuelans who are waiting for supplies and medical treatments to treat different affections
He quoted as an example the case of 12 Venezuelan children who are in Italy, waiting for bone marrow transplants. These infants, whose treatments would be financed by the Citgo company, a subsidiary of PDVSA which has been confiscated by the US, could not be taken care of since the banking entity through which the payment would be made -Novo Banco Portugal- has blocked the resources allocated for this cause:
“The lives of these 12 children are at risk”, warned the Chancellor, in a clear sign of the criminal impact that these unilateral measures have had on the Venezuelan people, the main victim of these actions that seek to collapse the Venezuelan economy.
On this case, Arreaza also denounced that Venezuela has 1.543 million euros blocked in Novo Banco Portugal, money that would be destined for the acquisition of medicines, medical supplies and food.
To the previous figure there are 1,359 million euros in Venezuelan gold, blocked in the Bank of England, a money owned by the Venezuelan people and which is being withheld as part of the criminal actions undertaken by the United States:
“We are going to insist on diplomacy and dialogue to unblock the Venezuelan economy,” agreed the Foreign Minister on Thursday while he recalled the impact that these actions have had on the importation of food, medicines, supplies for production, parts and pieces, payment of services and technological maintenance, processes that are carried out with great difficulty and at much higher prices for freight and risk insurance.
