Suspension of Venezuela from the OAS was nothing but a media montage

The resolution passed in June 2018 by the United States and the 14 countries of the Lima Group for the suspension of Venezuela from the Organization of American States (OAS) and the approval, last April, of the representative of the self-proclaimed interim president Juan Guaidó before the organism, Gustavo Tarre Briceño, are nothing but “a parapet and a theatrical assembly for mediatic effects”.
The affirmation was made by the first vice president of the National Constituent Assembly, Tanía Díaz, during the “Dando y Dando-Radio” (Taking and Giving-Radio) program, a space that she leads by the signal of RNV Informative channel along with the Minister for Education, Aristóbulo Istúriz.
This April 27th is met the deadline of 24 months, required for the departure from the OAS country, after the Venezuelan permanent representative before the organism delivered on April 28, 2017 the renounce to the Charter of the Organization, name that receives the procedure to officially start its retirement from the institution.
According to Díaz, the departure of Venezuela from the OAS was necessary considering that the organization lost its nature with the arrival to the General Secretariat of Luis Almagro, who distorted the objective of this political space conceived for the integration of Latin America. Almagro, as she continued pointing out, has devoted himself to fomenting coups d’etat in countries that are not compatible with his hegemonic plans”.
In this sense, “The aggression against Venezuela is a business for characters such as Luis Almagro and Marco Rubio, who manage resources to help the country, but that never come here”, she said.
Istúriz also spoke about the recognition of Tarre Briceño as representative of Venezuela before the agency, describing the decision as an “abuse and a disrespect” to the peoples and the member nations.
“The US is playing ball with the OAS, so the more they mess up and say nonsense, I think the stronger the celebration should be for the departure of Venezuela; Venezuela can not be there, for dignity” he added.
This Saturday, April 27 there will be a large mobilization in the city of Caracas to celebrate the departure of the country from the agency, an activity that is promoted in parallel to the start of activities of the training school of socialist workers.
