In the framework of the 194th Anniversary of the passing to immortality of the Liberator and Father of the Nation, Simón Bolívar, President Nicolás Maduro received the march of the Bolivarian National Militia at Miraflores Palace, in an act that highlights the commitment of the Nation to the ideals of the Giant, the Liberator.
On this day, various points in the city of Caracas became centers of patriotic fervor and solidarity, where thousands of citizens gathered to participate in the swearing-in of the Combat Corps of the Bolivarian National Militia.
The units, organized by the people on a voluntary basis, have become an essential component in the support of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) in the integral defense of national sovereignty.
The activity, which took place at seven concentration points, began in the La Candelaria Square and included emblematic places such as Urdaneta Avenue, the Armed Forces elevated road, the Veroes corner and the Panteón Boulevard, to culminate at Miraflores Palace.
The massive participation in this Tuesday’s mobilization demonstrates the fervent desire of the citizens to contribute to the defense and security of the country.
Legacy of unity and struggle of Simón Bolívar:
The Combat Corps of the Bolivarian National Militia are made up of men and women who, under the direction of the commander of the Militia of the Integral Defense Area, are trained and organized with the purpose of assisting the FANB in safeguarding the integrity and operation of the institutions to which they belong.
This voluntary work is part of the provisions of Chapter 7 of the Constitutional Law of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, enacted on January 30, 2020.
The march, which symbolizes Bolívar’s legacy of unity and struggle, reflects the sense of belonging and commitment of the Venezuelan people, reaffirming their active role in the construction of a free and sovereign homeland.
In the words of President Maduro: «Today we pay tribute to our Liberator and renew our oath to defend the Homeland, with the conviction that the union of the people and the FANB is the guarantee of independence.»
This event is part of a context of reaffirmation of Bolivarian values, where citizen participation stands as a fundamental pillar in the defense and construction of the future of Venezuela.
