CNE initiated process of substitutions and modifications of nominal and by list candidacies

The main rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Tania D’amelio reported that the electoral body began receiving since last Friday the substitutions and modifications of nominal and by list candidates, which for chronological reasons were not reflected in the ballot. This regarding the municipal and council elections of December 9.

She said in her Twitter account that applicants may be replaced in cases of death, physical or mental disability, duly certified by the competent authority:

“These substitutions and modifications are provided for in articles 62 and 63 of the Organic Law of Electoral Processes and, even though in the ballot a substitute is not reflected, the votes cast by the substitute will be credited to the substitute”, she pointed.

National and regional organizations for political reasons, as well as national and regional indigenous organizations, will be able to make the modifications during the period indicated by the Electoral Power, said the rector in the social network.
