Interventionist maneuvers against Venezuela threaten peace in the region

The promotion of interventionism against Venezuela constitutes a threat against the peace and stability in the Latin American region, hence these countries and their leaders must repudiate this kind of maneuvers under tutelage by the US Government, said the second vice president of the National Assembly Constituent (ANC), Elvis Amoroso.

In an interview given this Wednesday to Venevisión, Amoroso noted that the statements of the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, of requesting a military intervention against Venezuela, constitute an irresponsible stance, because “intervening in Venezuela is to militarily intervene to the region, a disastrous conflict would be created throughout our entire region. I believe that any countries that truly respect themselves should repudiate these statements”, he remarked.

“We Venezuelans are a people with dignity and we have always demanded respect for our sovereignty. Almagro is irresponsible when passing over the States of the OAS by issuing personal pronouncements without any kind of consultation, when it is a collegiated body that must be respected under International Law”, said Amoroso.

The ANC approved on Tuesday a constitutional agreement in rejection to the constant aggressions of the Government of the United States (the USA), that attempt against the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela. In the text, the members of the Constituent Assembly rejected “the aggressions against the people and the democratic institutions of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela by the US, which intend to continue trying formulas to alter the peace and stability of our nation and the entire Latin American region”
