The denounce was made this Thursday by the Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, at a press conference from Damascus, the capital of Syria, regarding the reaction of the US President, Donald Trump, at the presence of Russian aircraft and military personnel in Venezuelan territory.
“They want to impose again, they have given new validity to the Monroe Doctrine, according to which the United States reserves total control of the American hemisphere, from Alaska to Patagonia Argentina,” said the representative of Venezuelan diplomacy, reiterating that they seek “Political, military and economic control”.
On March 27, after the arrival of a group of Russian military aircraft to the country, Trump called for Russia’s departure from Venezuela, considering its presence as an act of provocation, said US Vice President Mike Pence.
In response to the position assumed by the Washington administration, Arreaza reiterated again from Damascus that this is part of the traditional cooperation that both countries have maintained for 18 years.
In addition, he described as rude and offensive to the “dignity of the people” the reaction of the United States, which seeks to stop the entry of Russian and Chinese investments in Latin America, in its eagerness to take control of the entire hemisphere.
