The Governments of China and Venezuela on Friday assessed mechanisms of integration and bilateral contribution through an initiative of the Asian country called “The Strip and the Road”, said the Chinese State Councilor, Wang Yi.
With regard to the closing of the 16th China-Venezuela High Level Commission, which was held in Beijing, Yi stressed that his country is willing to work to deepen cooperation and strengthen the friendship between both nations, anchored in the initiative of the Strip and the Route: “to narrow the cooperation spaces, optimize the models and with the substantial fruits enrich the alliance for the benefit of both peoples”.
Likewise, he said that the links between both nations are made on the basis of equality “at an important stage of development”, and so he stressed the importance of “taking advantage of the opportunities together and moving forward to create a new perspective of cooperation”.
The Strip and the Road, an initiative presented by the President of China, Xi Jinping, in 2013, proposes the formation of a mechanism of economic interconnection between countries of Asia, Africa and Europe by the historical sea and terrestrial routes of silk. At the beginning of this year, a special declaration of international cooperation was signed with countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
