COVID-19: 477 community cases and 71 imported cases were detected in the last 24 hours

A total of 477 cases of community transmission of COVID-19 and 71 imported cases were detected in the last 24 hours by the Venezuelan health authorities, which brings the total number of infections to 20,754, of which a total of 11,622 have successfully recovered, which is equivalent to a 56%

The information was released this Monday by the sectoral vice president for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Jorge Rodríguez, through a telephone contact at the end of the meeting of the Presidential Commission for Control and Prevention of COVID-19.

Regarding community cases, he specified:

Capital District: 141 new cases in the 22 parishes. (30% of daily cases)
Miranda: 92 new cases.
Zulia: 78 new cases.
Sucre: 54 new cases.
La Guaira: 27 new cases.
Táchira: 27 new cases.
Anzoátegui: 18 new cases.
Monagas: 16 new cases.
Lara: 8 new cases.
Nueva Esparta: 7 new cases.
Apure: 4 new cases.
Guárico: 4 new cases.
Merida: 1 new case.

Regarding imported cases, he specified that 64 of them correspond to compatriots who arrived from Colombia, 6 from Ecuador and 1 from Peru.

He specified that up to date there are 8,952 active cases, of which 6,670 are admitted into hospitals, 2,114 into Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and 168 are in private clinics.

Moreover, he also regretted reporting the death of six people from the COVID-19 infection, bringing the number of fatalities to 180. The deaths occurred: 2 in Táchira state, 1 in Carabobo, 1 in Miranda, 1 in Mérida and 1 in Nueva Esparta state.

Referring to the number of tests applied to detect COVID-19, he specified that up to date there have been 1,554,624, which is equivalent to 51,821 tests per million inhabitants.
