The rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Tania D ‘Amelio, said this Monday that the electoral body works according to the Constitution, and adjusted to law.
Regarding the process carried out in preparation for the elections of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), she said: “We are working according to what is stated in the Constitution … we are in peace with our conscience”.
During her participation in the “Con Amorin” (With Amorin) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, D’Amelio clarified that the CNE is not competent to decide whether this process is constitutional or not, since these duties correspond to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) .
She stressed that the commission is receiving the dates of registration and explaining the basis of the constitutional committee, among which are aspects such as being of age and not be registered in more than one registry.
