President Maduro will meet Xi Jinping in China

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, will meet this Friday with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, in order to deepen the evaluation and analysis of investment opportunities in Venezuela, America and the Caribbean, to further enhance the joint progress in all areas of the Venezuelan economy.

This was reported during his speech at the closing ceremony of 16th meeting of the China-Venezuela high level commission in Beijing:

“I will be fortunate to meet with President Xi Jinping, with all his Government team and we will deepen the analysis, in the vision of the empowered Venezuela, of the great strengths of the Program for Economic Recovery, Growth and Prosperity, of the great opportunities of investment, of joint advance that we have in all the areas of the economy of the Venezuelan society”, he said.

Likewise, President Maduro stressed that in the meeting with his Chinese counterpart they will analyze the investment opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean as a whole: “Because Venezuela conceives its future development as an integral part of a single power, as our commander Chávez said, as it is embodied in the Homeland Plan”, he remarked.

The Head of State made a work visit to China on the closure of the sixteenth meeting of the China-Venezuela high-level commission, in which 28 new bilateral cooperation agreements were signed in the areas of oil, energy, mining , gold, iron, technology, education and culture.

“In this state visit, in this closing of the 16th meeting of the mixed commission are perfectly aligned with the line of development, recovery, growth of the Economic Recovery Program”, said President Maduro.

Relations between Venezuela and China date back to 1974, but it was in 1999 when Commander Hugo Chávez raised them to a strategic level, which allowed to advance in the development of large-scale projects. Currently, this relationship is based on principles of mutual respect, friendship and cooperation.

The national leader meant that this Friday, once again, he has reaffirmed that “the mixed commission and the China-Venezuela relationship are perfectly aligned in harmony with the development needs of our beloved homelands: China and Venezuela.”
