National Government subsidizes 99% of the cost of CLAP combos

The National Government subsidizes the cost of the boxes and bags of the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP) by 99%, as highlighted on Thursday the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro:

“(It is) Money put in by the Government, money of the people, is the strategy to face the induced and criminal inflation, the economic war”, said the president during a videoconference with the Communal Economic System and the CLAP.

Maduro stressed that the distribution of food through this program is an effort and “an immense collective miracle of the people”, amidst the coercive measures of the United States government against the country, for political reasons.

In addition, he explained that the CLAPs increased their daily production capacity by 184% compared to 2018, going from 249,600 combos to 460,800 throughout the national territory.

Also, between 2019 and 2020, the territorialized production of the CLAPs rose by 152%, going from 18,837,119 combos to 28,733,166, specifically.
