Hinterlaces: Majority of Venezuelans prefer the State to lead the economy of the country

The most recent study held by Hinterlaces indicates the majority of Venezuelans prefer that the economy of the country should be driven by the State and not by private enterprises.

In 1,580 interviews conducted directly to households in the country, from May 24 to June 9, a 62% agreed with those who state that the economy of the country should be conducted by the State, and a 35% of the inquired ones were manifested in disagreement.

Likewise, a 68% of the respondents were in favor of those who say that the State should establish clear economic rules by which the private company is guided, and 20% were against it.

Journalist José Vicente Rangel announced these results in the “Confidentials” block of his program “José Vicente Hoy” (José Vicente today), broadcast on Sunday by Televen.

Among other questionnaires, he mentioned that Hinterlaces inquired the opinion of Venezuelans on if they agree that the Government should make the socialist economic model more efficient and productive, instead of changing the socialist economic model for a capitalist one; 66% agreed, and a 39% were in favor to change it.

Likewise, an 82% of respondents supported those who say that the best thing for Venezuela is a productive economic model where there are State companies, private companies and social property.
