The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, extended on Sunday his congratulations to the people and the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his victory in the elections held in that country and in which he was elected with 53.82% of the vote.
Through a statement issued by the Chancellory of the Republic, Venezuela notes that “This new victory occurs despite the gross international pressure, the attacks on the national currency and the demonizing campaign against the country. The People of Turkey, acknowledges who has guaranteed the longest period of economic, social and political stability, who restored dignity and pride for their identity, leading the nation to become an emerging power.

“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the People and the Bolivarian Government, warmly congratulates the President of the Republic of Turkey for his presidential re-election, as well as the Popular Alliance coalition for the victory obtained in the Parliament Turkish in the elections of this June 24.
In this historic day, the Turkish People have expressed themselves democratically, confirming the majority support to the consolidated leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who thus becomes the first Executive President of the Republic of Turkey, after the successful political reform advanced by his government. This new victory takes place in spite of the coarse of international pressures, the attacks on the national currency and the demonizing campaign against the country. The plain People of Turkey, recognizes who has guaranteed the longest period of economic, social and political stability, who restored dignity and pride for their identity, leading the nation to become an emerging power.
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela greets the brotherly People of the Republic of Turkey, for their high expression of civility, for their high political awareness and deep commitment to the Turkish democratic tradition.
