Denounced new terrorist attack against the National Electric System

This Sunday, the National Electric System (SEN) suffered a new terrorist attack, specifically in the Aragua Substation, located in the Santa Cruz sector of the Lamas municipality (Aragua state); which caused the explosion of a transformer and generated fluctuations in the interconnected system, which produced a decrease in load in several states of the country.

This was reported by the Sectoral Vice President for Public Works and Services, G / J Néstor Reverol, through a telephone contact with the state-owned television station Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), where he explained that: “specifically, there was an explosion in a 230 / 115kVA autotransformer. However, we are directing from the National Dispatch Center operations to recover the load, personally with the president of the National Electric Corporation, Engineer José Luis Betancourt, and the entire team”.

He indicated that thanks to the reaction of the workforce, together with the State security agencies, they acted quickly and extraordinarily, to avoid a greater loss.

The General-in-Chief stressed that the electricity service has already been restored in the capital region, and they are in the process of full recovery of the load in states Zulia, Mérida, Táchira, Nueva Esparta and Falcón, which were partially affected.

The also Minister of People’s Power for Electric Energy, indicated that Aragua state suffered a loss of 75 megawatts, and they are awaiting the evaluation of the damage of the Substation by the firefighters of the entity: “We are making all the necessary arrangements to quickly put this Substation into operation”, he said.

“We are already doing all the coordination and all the interconnections with our SEN, so that the electrical energy returns to the homes”, said Reverol.

Finally, he assured that the social networks @ministeriodeenergiaelectrica and @corpoelecinfo are available so that the people of Venezuela can report the places where the electricity service has not reached yet.

“We want to maintain interaction with the People’s Power, to send the crews that are on guard and that the energy is distributed and reaches their homes again,” said Reverol Torres.
