Nicolas Maduro, President of the Republic, stressed the historical value of the National Constituent Assembly of 1999, with which Venezuela decided to build socialism as a true expression of human freedom, summoned by Commander Hugo Chavez.
Through his official page on Facebook, the Head of State recalled that on April 25, 1999 , voted 4,129,547 electors, of which which were valid 3,930,899 votes.
«This historical fact is of a great importance to the Homeland of Bolivar, since, thanks to our Father Chavez, we the Venezuelans decided on a protagonistic democracy, our Commander Chavez left us a Democratic Homeland with a cultured people, decided to build socialism as a true expression of the human freedom», shared the President.
Maduro recalled that this fact meant the germ of a new Republic, forged by Commander Chavez in equality for all and everyone.
Thanks to this -he wrote-, Venezuela possesses today the most democratic and complete Magna Carta in the world.
