Maduro: 17 years ago we decided to build socialism as an expression of freedom


Nicolas Maduro, President of the Republic, stressed the historical value of the National Constituent Assembly of 1999, with which Venezuela decided to build socialism as a true expression of human freedom, summoned by Commander Hugo Chavez.
Through his official page on Facebook, the Head of State recalled that on April 25, 1999 , voted 4,129,547 electors, of which which were valid 3,930,899 votes.
“This historical fact is of a great importance to the Homeland of Bolivar, since, thanks to our Father Chavez, we the Venezuelans decided on a protagonistic democracy, our Commander Chavez left us a Democratic Homeland with a cultured people, decided to build socialism as a true expression of the human freedom”, shared the President.
Maduro recalled that this fact meant the germ of a new Republic, forged by Commander Chavez in equality for all and everyone.
Thanks to this -he wrote-, Venezuela possesses today the most democratic and complete Magna Carta in the world.
