The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during the 11th Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Governments of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), warned about the resurgence and resurgence of fascism in the world.
Maduro warned that “this new fascism is reinvigorated by the force of hatred, surrender and the destruction of the National State and social rights,» and that it seeks the recolonization of countries and their surrender to the American empire”.
«There is no doubt today that in Europe, in South America, in the United States of America, there is a powerful resurgence of fascism. It is already a reality,» he warned.
Maduro, at the summit, pointed out: “this neofascism [has] resurfaced by the hands of Elon Musk (Goliath) and has a face, a name, a surname, a lot of capital, power and companies, it is the representation of extremist currents and with all the financial communication power.»
In this sense, he added that figures such as Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg «believe that the time has come to assault political power, where the world’s natural resources are, where the independent forces of resistance are, and even to assault power in what they call the first world: the United States, London, Europe.»
Maduro also referred to the coup d’état in Bolivia (in 2019), as “the test that they later applied with all its letters in Venezuela. A coup d’état carried out in the streets by criminal groups who harassed mayors, main leaders, who threatened the relatives of President Evo Morales; with groups that unfortunately betrayed their oath in the police forces, in part of the military forces and in an offensive against the entire State, that seized power,» he explained.
In a comparison, he indicated that this action is the strategy of fascism to destabilize countries and justify a military intervention, that “in Venezuela a campaign was unleashed before, during and after July 28, which had the objective of imploding with violence from hired, trained criminals, bringing Venezuela to a state of generalized violence and a pre-civil war,» denounced Maduro.
Despite these attempts, Maduro stressed that Venezuela is «at peace consolidating its path, consolidating its constitution, with all constitutional rights guaranteed for our people.»
«(…) in Venezuela, the path left by Commander Chavez to build a new democracy, new paradigms, a direct democracy, a popular democracy, a true democracy, a new formula that emerged in the heat of the Bolivarian doctrine, in the heat of the Chavista doctrine, in the heat of our experiences and roots, is being consolidated,» he stressed.
