Venezuela calls for consultations to its ambassador in the Kingdom of Spain

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela announced that the Head of State decided to call for consultations to the Venezuelan ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Mario Isea.

The measure announced by the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, through his account on the Twitter social network, responds to what he acknowledges as an “interventionist and colonialist aggression” by the Spanish Government.

On Monday, the European Union announced unilateral sanctions against high representatives of the National Public Powers, leaders of the Bolivarian Revolution and the military, under the pretext of supporting the dialogue process. These measures were proposed and promoted by the Spanish Chancellor, following instructions from his Government.

In response to this action, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced that the Bolivarian Government will take the appropriate diplomatic measures to respond to the aggression. In addition, the ANC decided, as the highest instance of the Original Constituent Power, that the Presidential elections should be held in the first four months of 2018, under the slogan of “To more sanctions, more elections”.
