47.36% of the voter registry voted this December 10

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced that a total of 9,281,257 people attended the municipal elections this Sunday, which translates into a participation of a 47.36%, despite the fact that three political parties of the opposition called their supporters not to vote.

From Miraflores Palace, in a work journey with the Governors and Mayors recently elected this DEC-10, as well as the international accompanists who met in these elections, said that of the 9,281,257 votes a total of 9,267,383 were valid,

Of the 335 mayoralties that were disputed in the country, the forces of the Revolution, led by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the Great Patriotic Pole have reached 305 mayorships, which represents a 91%, while the Venezuelan opposition obtained 25 mayorships, which translates into a 7%, «while local movements have won 5 mayoralties», he acknowledged.

On the other hand, he condemned the action of some opposition parties of not participating in the electoral process. «We are not going to abandon spaces, we believe in vote, in democracy and in the political debate», he said, while comparing the fact of their non-participation with the same script of 2005 when they decided to withdraw from the democratic game and not elect deputies that year.
