President Maduro: 4-F revived in Chávez the historical thought of Bolívar

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed that February 4, 1992 (4-F) was the day of awakening of conscience and of history that “resurrected in the face and in the thought of Hugo Chávez, the historical thought of Bolívar and the Dreams of the Great Homeland.

This was emphasized by the national president during his participation in the commemorative act for the 30th anniversary of the military rebellion, held this Friday at Paseo Los Próceres (Heroes Stroll), in Caracas:

The day had to come and someone had to do it (…) No one imagined that the sound of a new gallop brought from the depths of time of resistance the strength of centuries to set out on the road again, now victorious. That in those tumultuous times of popular rebellion a military rebellion of dignity and courage was gestating”, he expressed in reference to the historic day of February 4, 1992.

In his speech, Maduro stressed that Chavez broke into 4-F when capitalism declared its victory over the peoples of the world.

He recalled that former President Carlos Andrés Pérez was a symbol of betrayal, opprobrium and surrender. However, he triumphed again in elections because “a confused people believed in the false promises of right-wing populism; he believed that policies would come to help the 80% of the people who were in poverty. Quickly, in January, the plans of the new government that arrived were known.

For now…”:

The Head of State recalled that day whose climax was the appearance in the media of “a skinny man, the face of an indigenous, the face of a mestizo, the face of our people. Of ours, of the people, of the depth of history and he speaks with that courage, with that serenity and tells us three things that only the people heard: That oligarchy did not listen to what the people did know how to interpret with its intelligence and wisdom”.

“For now it was not possible, better times will come and Venezuela will have to take a new path”, that was Chavez’s message of hope, Maduro recalled.

Violence: Never again

President Maduro recalled, as a member of a generation that was the protagonist of those historical events, the words of Commander Chávez that guided those who were fighting in the midst of persecution: “Violence, never again. We are going to seek the peaceful path for a democratic, popular and Bolivarian revolution that will open the 21st century to Venezuela”.

And so began, with the peaceful vote of the people, the road to the people’s power, winning the 1998 elections and beginning the constitutional period on February 2, 1999, as he said.

“Venezuela inaugurated a president with the historical flags of the 500-year resistance”, whose first decree was the call for a referendum for a National Constituent Assembly and achieve the refoundation of the Republic.

From that triumph, everything we have done has been with the conscience and the vote of the people: 27 electoral victories in a row, down the middle street,” said the Head of State.

Accompanied by the Venezuelan people after a massive march in Caracas, he assured that, “30 years later, here we are standing in a permanent Revolution (…) today is a day of difficult history, of a historical deed of great battles. 30 years have passed since the day of the awakening of consciousness and of history”, he stated during the mobilization in Caracas.
