Rodríguez: We are close to reaching an agreement with the opposition

The Head of the presidential commission for political dialogue with the opposition, Jorge Rodríguez, recalled that both sides are close to reaching an agreement.

“We said it. We are on the verge of an agreement and we understand that for them in their electoral calculations, they considered that they had to leave the (dialogue) table a few days before (the elections) because that was going to bring them some kind of political-electoral results”, he said.

He emphasized the civic expression of the Venezuelan people in the regional elections, while urging the right-wing actors to recognize the results issued by the electoral arbitrator.

“If anyone from the opposition comes up with singing fraud in this electoral event, it will disappear as a political option in Venezuela, forever … it would be the height of the highs that in an electoral event as clean as this has been, with the participation that this had, for someone to come up with some kind of irregularity. We are confident that that will not happen”, he said.

Rodríguez added that in the next few hours they will establish contact with leaders of the right wing, urging them to acknowledge the electoral result expressed by the CNE.
