Debate of the Constituent Assembly will reach the entire country

The consultation for the National Constituent Assembly, an instrument summoned last May 1st by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, will come to the whole country, to listen to the proposals of the various political, social and economic sectors that are alive within the National territory.

“The guideline I have from the President of the Republic is to meet with anyone who wants to meet, with anyone who wants to listen, with anyone who wants to criticize or contribute to the initiative he has taken.”

The statement was made by President of the Presidential Commission for the National Constituent Assembly, Elías Jaua, during an interview in the “José Vicente Hoy” (José Vicente Today) program, led by journalist José Vicente Rangel.

The goal is to hold meetings, in each of the entities, with businessmen, workers, producers, religious authorities, mayors and governors, to explain the scope of this instrument of popular constitutional consultation. “The initiative of President Maduro has allowed us to talk to other sectors we had never spoken to directly.”

Parallel to this national deployment, work will continue with the technical teams to prepare the proposal for a commission basis that will be delivered to the National Electoral Council (CNE), a body empowered, as established in Article 293 of the Constitution, to determine the Conditions, norms and deadlines in which the constituents will be elected.
