The Minister of People’s Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, denounced a new terrorist attack against the National Electric System (NES) which affected several states of the country, and stressed that the authorities are carrying out the corresponding work to find those responsible:
“At 7:16 at night, there was a terrorist attack against the national electrical system, specifically on line 765 that includes Valle la Pascua with Valencia, affecting the states of Táchira, Mérida, Barinas, Zulia, Falcón, Nueva Esparta, (and) among others some sectors of La Guaira, Miranda and Caracas”.
During a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión, Minister Cabello assured that “the corresponding security agencies are working to solve the damages that the terrorist attack has left on the Electrical System”.
The Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, stated that “this is one of the strategies that opposition sectors, enemies of this country, enemies of our people, have constantly used to try to harm us, to try to affect the population, to make the enthusiasm, the joy of our people be affected.”
“We alert our people, on behalf of the Bolivarian Government, to be alert in every corner of Venezuela and to, please, report any abnormal situation, and do not doubt that we will take action immediately,” said Cabello.
He recalled that denounces can be made through the Ven 911 number, and that security agencies are operational 24 hours a day, to guarantee peace and security in the nation.
Likewise, he assured that he is in contact with the Minister of People’s Power for Electric Energy, Jorge Márquez, who together with his work team is carrying out the work to improve the service and recover the affected areas: “There are states in which the electric service has been completely restored and the same will be done progressively in the other entities. We ask our people to be alert to any irregularities.”
He urged the population to have confidence and patience that the authorities will solve the problem and find those responsible for this new attack on the SEN.
On the other hand, he indicated that the sectors of the extreme right wing have planned the execution of attacks, not only on the electric service, but on other essential areas of the nation, and in that sense, he specified that the security agencies are deployed to guarantee the protection of both the strategic areas and the security of our people.
