National Executive insists on release of President Maduro and First Combatant Woman Cilia Flores

From Bolívar state, the Acting President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted the firmness and cohesion of the Venezuelan public powers in the face of the events of January 3.

She pointed out that, at that time, the Supreme Court of Justice acted immediately by issuing the decision to entrust the presidency, thus guaranteeing institutional continuity and reaffirming that Venezuela has a legitimate government that responds to the popular mandate.

Rodríguez highlighted that the joint response of the Parliament, the Judiciary branch, and other institutions reflected the political maturity and democratic integrity of the country.

“In here governs the people of Venezuela, and that is why it is important to consolidate the People’s power in the communal circuits,” she affirmed, highlighting that the Venezuelan institutional system is sustained on the coordinated action of the judicial, electoral, moral, legislative, and executive branches.

The Acting President emphasized that the only authority to whom the government is accountable is the Venezuelan people, who must be listened to and obeyed. In this sense, she reiterated that since January 3, the institutions have not rested a single day in demanding their release.

“It is a cry of the people, but also an act of justice, because they are innocent,” she expressed.

Rodríguez reaffirmed that the Bolivarian Revolution will continue working as a single team in defense of national sovereignty and independence. She insisted that the unity of the public powers and the consolidation of the People’s Power are fundamental pillars to guarantee political stability and social justice in Venezuela, in the face of external aggression and attempts at destabilization.
