The Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reaffirmed that the Bolivarian Government keeps its commitment to the Diplomacy of Peace as a means of normalizing relations with the United States.
During her balance, the Dignitary reported having held direct telephone conversations with President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with the aim of building a work agenda based on mutual respect despite ideological differences.
Rodríguez qualified the attack and the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Combatant Woman Cilia Flores as “a stain” on bilateral relations, but emphasized on the need to overcome this episode through political dialogue and the international rule of law.
She stressed that, after 30 days, the Venezuelan people has demonstrated an exceptional maturity, transforming the impact of the aggression into an unwavering will for peace that thwarted the plans for chaos of extremist sectors.
The Acting President asserted that the national approach and the country’s stability are the foundations upon which must be built this new stage of dialogue with Washington, always prioritizing the sovereignty and dignity of the nation.
