From Miraflores Palace, the Acting President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, described the country’s current stability as a collective conquest in the face of attempts at destabilization.
During her statements, she emphasized that the population’s response capacity has been fundamental in maintaining internal order:
“The country is calm, the country is peaceful, but there is a national outcry demanding the release of President Maduro and the First Combatant Woman, Deputy Cilia Flores. Everywhere you go. That’s why I say it’s a great victory for the Venezuelan people,” she stated.
Accompanied by the Sectoral Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Captain Diosdado Cabello, and the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, the acting president recalled the impressions received from the international community after the start of the hostilities.
To this regard, she mentioned that, in a meeting with diplomats from the European Union, they expressed that “it was very striking how Venezuela, just a few hours, a few days after that aggression, was in tranquility, it was in calm.”
Furthermore, she stressed that national peace is not accidental, but the result of the citizens’ determination to move forward in the country’s recovery despite external pressures.
