Following approval by the National Assembly of the Law on the Simplification of Administrative Procedures, parliamentarian Liliana González highlighted that this legal instrument has already taken its first step with the launch of the «Simplifica» digital consultation, a mechanism designed to gather concrete proposals from the citizens.
Deputy González explained that the law aims to create a more robust government and truly eradicate bureaucracy, because it is important for the public to receive answers regarding administrative procedures: «It can’t be that you go to any institution to complete a procedure and they ask you for a folder; therefore we have to digitize,” she said.
In this same vein, she emphasized that must be eliminated processes that hinder quick responses to the public; that’s why is talked about efficiency and effectiveness in procedures and in the response of the people.
“It’s important to highlight that in the law is mentioned the digital divide; the government must also establish mechanisms for those who, of course, do not have the handle on new technologies,” expressed González.
