The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, during her visit to the Negro Primero Training and Socio-Productive Complex in Sarría, El Recreo Parish, Caracas,, expressed her satisfaction with the advance of community projects; she affirmed to feel “very happy and pleased” because she has the absolute certainty that this is the path where organized communities, community councils, and communes drive the country’s development through the communal economy.
She emphasized that the communal economy is a solution for local and territorial development, allowing the potentials of each community to expand.
Rodríguez celebrated the participation of youth in these socio-productive initiatives and highlighted that the communal economy generates direct savings for the families. As an example, she pointed out that a kilo of prime beef in the communal unit costs $8.90, while in the conventional market it can reach $11 or $12, which represents a tangible benefit by eliminating intermediary chains.
In this sense, she highlighted the role of public procurement policy, which promotes national agribusiness, the communal economy, and entrepreneurship by coordinating efforts that strengthen a diversified, self-sufficient production model, with exporting capacity.
Finally, the Head of State called on the communes and entrepreneurs to also think in exporting: “I have asked for us to think about exports, so that what is made in Venezuela becomes an extraordinary ambassador for the country.”
